Lind and Love Photography | Maternity Photographer Serving Plano, Texas

There are really no words to describe how beautiful this expecting mom is. We set out in the beautiful golden hour of sunlight in warm Plano, Texas for a fun and memorable maternity session. Oak Point Park is one of the best backdrops for showcasing mom-to-be.

Expecting Mother, looks out over Oak Point Park in Plano, TX

She is almost to the end, and can’t wait to meet baby Henry! She feels good, and just quite honestly radiates happiness and love! I don’t remember being this happy and radiant when pregnant, and I can’t honestly say she feels *that* good but she sure pulls off the look!

And her sweet daughter, who truly has a special bond with her momma, cannot wait to meet him either. I can hear her giggles!

Dad and brother too!

And…can I mention just how awesome their styling is?? Mom did an amazing job piecing together their look. Rich fall tones, flowy feminine that coordinate but aren’t match-matchy!

I also have to point out our kayaker friend here in the background. We love Oak Point Park and the recreation it has to offer. Hiking and biking trails, and a lake to kayak in! Beyond fun!

Can you imagine another boy to add to this mix? They loved playing in the sunshine, just too much fun!

So much love.

And then… there’s baby girl.. in her DRESS. Stopping the world, with her confidence, big heart, “look at me now world I am ready for you” attitude. She made sure we spent some time capturing her just right in her dress.

You can be told a million times that you’re beautiful… but only until you feel it, do you believe it.

What to Wear for Fall Family Pictures | Lind and Love Photography, Richardson Texas Family Photographer

Here in North Texas, Fall starts to creep in finally the 2nd week of October.. we have so many bright warm days all summer and Fall and ok Spring, and sometimes Winter.. I actually love it. But when it starts to get cold, I mean we are ready for it.

So, Fall family portrait season is the perfect opportunity to put together some fun outfits for everyone to get outside and enjoy the new crisp season!

But… if you need a nudge on where to start, let me introduce you to this charming little family of 4! We found a perfect spot in Richardson, Texas for their pictures. A creek, a bridge, some sticks, and a couple of cute little boys made it a perfect evening.

Mom is brilliant in all ways design: home decorating, fashion, landscape and her cuisine.. yes her FOOD is beautifully styled! So when it comes to her family’s portraits she never fails!

This year it was all about glitz and glamour, a handsome GQ fellow, and two dapper boys! The palette is navy blue and brown:

Always start with mom’s choice of outfit. I love how she goes with a belted sparkly dress and tall brown leather boots. You want to choose something that flatters you, and that you feel very confident in. Mom’s choice also sets the color palette, and the mood of the entire look. For Fall and Winter, you also can’t go wrong with jewel tones; ruby red, citrine yellow, sapphire blue, emerald green, and amethyst purple. Look for sweet pastels for Spring and bright fun hues for Summer.

Then move on to the kiddos. Her boys have brown cords, knit navy button up cardigans with perfectly appointed bow ties. The elements of texture here really set off the look. The idea is to choose pieces that tie in the same color palette and neutrals from mom’s choice of outfit. We don’t need perfectly matched hues, but those from the same family will do the trick. If you’ve chosen a neutral palette, you can mix things up with texture. Fluffy vests, tights, snappy suspenders, and soft corduroys or velvet can really add interest.

Dad gets styled last, but not least! Dad is sporting a very sophisticated and sleek suit with a tie and dark brown shoes. And a big smile, don’t forget that 🙂

Top everything off with some fun accessories! Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, belts, hats, scarves, ties, and bow ties can really add fun and personality to your session! Just watch out for anything too chunky or scene-stealing, you don’t want anything to distract from your connection together. Rather, you want it to add a finishing touch. This is a good time to ditch your every day wrist watch and add a dainty bracelet instead. And make sure you remember to wear your wedding rings, and any other special family pieces you want to be in images to pass down one day.

Aren’t they just actually perfect? *sigh*

Sleeping Queens Game

Our family loves games. Well, sometimes I do too, but most others in our family love games. I do have to agree… it’s so much fun to connect and spend precious time together. I have a short attention span, and get antsy. But this one has a hold on me!

So… we got this game from my mom a while back, and the kids played it for a long time. My husband played with them. Then even I played with them. It’s so much fun for all of us.

What’s really cool is a 6 year old invented it. Can you imagine? She totally rocks!

The game helps with math too – you come up with matching pairs of numbers and addiction facts! So if you have a 1 and a 5, and a 6 then presto you have an equation:

1 + 5 = 6

…and you can exchange all 3 cards for 3 more cards. The idea is you find kings to awaken the sleeping queens. There’s more addition – if the sleeping queens’ face values add up to 50 YOU WIN!! This is great for a budding mathematician 1st grade to 5th grade or older! 🙂

It’s fun when something can completely grab your attention so you can just be together.

That’s what it’s all about!

Historic Downtown Celina, Texas Family Photographer | Lind and Love Photography

Downtown Celina is such a cute, quaint and historic setting. And with not much traffic (yet… the growth up here is amazing), we were able to have some fun with this little trio of siblings. The two boys are close in age, and one gorgeous teen. I’d say they had fun.

The idea was to keep it fun, and simple, and just let them play. As we continued to shoot, their personalities really started to shine. As did their unique relationships with each other 🙂

Roller Blades and an Umbrella

Lately here in North Texas, we’ve been hiding inside while the sky dumps down on us. Today, it did just that. But she wanted to play anyway. So we pulled out the roller blades… and the umbrella. Then the sun popped out! I think it just needed us to act dry and dress in bright cheery colors to encourage it. That’s what we’ll believe anyway. And we got to play, which is the important part.

We were going for a serious “wish I could play in the rain” vibe, which I think she nailed!

The second we stepped inside, I got a notification on my phone that it would start raining again. I think we’d figure that out, but I guess it’s nice to know anyway?
